Each lesson or event combines gardening and ecology, home and environment, kids’ needs and adults’ needs, and solid information with creative imagination and action. No matter which service you choose, teacher Anna Van Devender will help you:
- Learn about soil, water, plants, animals, and more!
- Imagine stories and plans for how you and your garden can adapt to the desert and help your desert landscape adapt to you.
- Do a small hands-on project to make a big difference.
Backyard Lessons
Learn about and start a project specific to your own home. Ask all your questions, try new ideas, improve your outdoor space! Diverse materials and activities help include children and adults in the same lessons. NEW in 2024: Each lesson is 1 1/2 hours, offered in a series of 5 lessons throughout the season or throughout the year. Choose from an expanded menu of topics, OR plant five seasonal gardens. Need something more?
You define your need and available materials, and I’ll propose a weekly, monthly, or seasonal class for your students or community members. Schools, municipal parks, or businesses with garden space begging to be enjoyed can all benefit. I provide regular instruction as well as consultation for continued garden use between lessons.
